Do you think eBay is the best place to go? I reckon there'll be e-shops flogging them for under 400, i'm sure they're aware people aren't willing to splash out that sort of cash!

PS3 isn't worth £450. It does better graphics than the 360, but the difference isn't enough to warrant the extra cash.
Plus, the European PS3 is going to be a "cut-down" version with cheaper components than the US/Japanese ones. The major difference is they're not putting a PS2 chip in so PS2 games will be software emulated rather than being able to run natively, and only those games they have patched it for (or that get patched in later updates) will work.
Sony dropped the ball on this one. It's coming out too late, it costs too much, and it doesn't do enough extra to warrant the price increase.
The only real plus on the PS3 is online gaming without a subscription.
