PCI device problem

every time i start my pc i get a PCI device problem, windows cant find a driver for it and wont find one on the net.
Device manager
device type - system device
manufaturer- unknown
location- PCI bus0, device 20, function 2

Device status
Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)

i wanna make a back up image of HDD everything seems preety good at the moment and i dont wanna get a virus or something to get fcuk'ed up and have to do a OS reinstall, so would like to get the minor problems sorted first.

first thing id do is go to the mainboard´s manufacturers website and install the latest set of drivers for the mainboard

When you get these errors, that string of gobbdygook comes in very handy:

VEN_1002 - means &quot;Vendor ID 1002&quot;
DEV_437B - means &quot;Device ID 437B&quot;

Which means we need to find out who Vendor 1002 is and what they make with an ID of 437B.

A quick google search comes up with

Vendor: ATI Technologies Inc
Device: IXP SB450 High Definition Audio Controller [Avance Logic Inc]

Which looks like an integrated sound chip on an ATI motherboard to me

If you're not using the onboard sound (and I sincerely hope you've put in a decent sound card instead of using onboard crap) then just pop into device manager and disable it (it'll save a teeny bit of memory), then go into the BIOS and see if you can turn the onboard sound off there, too.

If for some horrifying reason you are using the onboard sound (and I'm guessing you're not because you'd have noticed a lack of noise coming out of the speakers by now) then you'll need to go hunt the driver down off the motherboard install CD or website.

good stuff _S , disabled onboard sound and no more pesky hardware wizard on boot up.
