Anyone got a Media Centre ?

Got a new project

We need a new TV in the kitchen, but have no rooftop antenna and indoor ones are useless here in the middle of nowhere. Also, it'd be nice to do it at zero cost.

So I figured I'll fix up my old AMD 2200 PC as a secondary media player. Motherboard, memory, and graphics card are fine. I robbed it's DVD drive a while back (will try and grab another some time though as it'd be nice if it could play DVDs). Got an old Elonex 17" monitor and a 15" LCD display to choose from, too.

It's got an HDD, but it seems silly to generate the extra heat and use the extra power... so I pulled it out, and am going to have it boot off a 2GB memory stick Then all I need to do is add my spare USB wireless adaptor to it and it has access to the 500GB of stuff sitting on the network as well as streaming TV from the main media centre hooked to Sky Should run fairly quiet with no drives in - might even see if I can get a fanless PSU for it later (have got a wild idea about trying to rig an old laptop power supply onto the motherboard, but thats a job for when my heads a bit clearer and I'm less likely to blow myself up).
