So what are we all playing?

Well its nice to see so many people on Vent in the evenings and weekends, even if we're spread over two or three games. I'm happily hopping from game to game at the moment, but what is everyone actually interested in playing?

- BF2: Seems theres a few of us still playing, and happy to find a ranked server with a few spare slots. Note I can put up a temporary ranked server (BF2 or SF) if we need one for a bunch of us to get together but it disappears after 12 hours or when its no longer populated, and has no remote admin. Also our own server is running the latest unranked BF2 now if anyone wants to just mess about.

- BF2 SF: I know that not everyone got the SF expansion, but again theres a few of us who like go get in now and again to play with ziplines and stuff (no jokes about me falling off the building, _R!)

- RvS: A lot of us keep on going back to RvS, and I'll happily come join in if anyones playing even if I am shit at it Also seems its the only game a decent number of us are in at the same time on. For me the number of us in-game means a lot, when we can fill out an entire team we really do work well and have a good time on comms.

- Regiment: Without a dedicated server its tricky to get people together, and hardly anyone's got it anyway. Still want to give multiplayer a shot tho if anyone wants a game! Multiplayer looks best for "mucking around" with a group of up to 20 players as theres no real competitive play, and the co-op might work pretty well too for two to four players. I hope the netcode is up to being hosted off ADSL tho... Also its a game that totally anti-camper and the only way to beat it is to be fast and accurate.

- Lockdown: Well the game that was supposed to save us all after we got fed up with BF2 looks to be mostly a pile of crap, but I think its a salvagable pile of crap if UBI listen to the players and pull their thumbs out of their backside and give us a decent patch. Single-player is rubbish, the gameplay itself in MP isnt too bad at all, but the map rotation, limitations if you go ranked (basically - forget actually playing a game if you go ranked, its just a giant chat room you hang around in until the sides are even then one big respawn-fest), and unstable dedicated server add up to one big put-off. I'd really not suggest people go out and buy it if you're looking for something new to replace RvS, and if you like BF2 this certainly isn't any better. But they could surprise us and fix the problems in a patch later.

- BF1942/BFV: Anyone still playing? I'm more than happy to play BFV if anyone else is!

Anyone else playing any multiplayer games please add to the list, I don't really care what I play as long as its multiplayer and its in some way actually playable for most of the time you're in the game (so anything other than Lockdown ranked server, really!)

i have bought lockdown today so will give it a go... regiment looks las though a kid developer on steroids has put it together..

how can u release a game and on day 1 patch it coz its so full of bugs..

At least they bothered patching the bugs (unlike Lockdown...)

Graphics are 100% worse than Lockdown, gameplay is 100% better. Lockdown is salvagable... just needs major patching to fix multiplayer so it doesnt cater primarily to the console kiddies.

Yup, take the gameplay, AI, graphics, maps, from Regiment.

Then add the ability from Lockdown to run on a dedicated server with two equal teams (tweaked so it doesnt crash). Perfect game
