Yes _P, I looked and it has a macro mode. Basically that means you can use the zoom to get very detialed close-up images. My camera doesn't have that so anything too close comes out blurry.

If I were you, I'd just experiment taking pics with it and using all the modes. See what you can do with it. It looks a good camera.
