Here you can find the Battlefield 2 system requirements:
Target Minimum Specification Machine:
1.5 Ghz CPU
512 Megabytes of RAM
128 MB video card (must support 1.4 shaders)
Apart from the above information, all that's known is that the system requirements for Battlefield 2 are slightly higher than they were for Battlefield: Vietnam. The specs listed below are those for Battlefield: Vietnam, but will be updated to the correct ones for Battlefield 2 when that information becomes available.
Minimum:
933 Mhz CPU
Directx 9.0b
3D accelerated GeForce3 64 MB or equivalent DirectX9 compatible video card
256 Megabytes of RAM
2 GB free hard drive space
(additional space required for Windows swap-file and
DirectX 9.0b installation)
16x CD-ROM drive
Directx 9.0b Compatible Sound Card
MS compatible mouse
Keyboard
Recommended:
1.2 Ghz CPU
Directx 9.0b
3D accelerated GeForce3 64 MB or equivalent DirectX9 compatible video card
512 Megabytes of RAM
2 GB free hard drive space
(additional space required for Windows swap-file and
DirectX 9.0b installation)
16x CD-ROM drive
Directx 9.0b Compatible Sound Card
MS compatible mouse
Keyboard
Recommended for optimum performance:
2.0 Ghz CPU
Directx 9.0b
Geforce 4 128 MB (Not MX) or equivalent DirectX9 compatible video card
512 Megabytes of RAM
2 GB free hard drive space
(additional space required for Windows swap-file and
DirectX 9.0b installation)
16x CD-ROM drive
Directx 9.0b Compatible Sound Card
MS compatible mouse
Keyboard
Required Operating Systems:
Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP or Windows 2000
Not Supported:
Windows 95
Directx9.0a and previous versions.
That should help.
Yes, your PC will run Battlefield 2, but don't expecting anything higher than low settings plus 800x600.

This is the so called "optimum performance" for Battlefield Vietnam. I used to have this system:
Athlon XP 2400+
512MB DDR PC2100
GeForce 4 Ti4200 128MB (overclocked past Ti4400)
best drivers, tweaked, etc.
And I was able to run Battlefield Vietnam at 800x600, with medium / medium / medium settings. To run the game at 1280x1024 with highest / high / high, you'd need something like Radeon 9800 Pro and 1024MB DDR PC3200.
So these "optimum performance" specs aren't actually true. You won't run the game at highest details and good resolution with their recommendations. Here's what kind of computer you would probably need to run Battlefield 2 at a good resolution (1024x768 and above) and high settings.
Pentium 4 2.8GHz / Athlon XP 2800+ / Athlon 64 2800+ (or higher)
1024MB DDR400
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro / GeForce 6600 GT (or higher)
