Grapples and Gasmasks and Ziplines, oh my!

Well after a couple of days messing with BF2 files, three online mods that all crashed, and a determination to just solve it myself when everything else failed, I've done it.

FcUKMod 1.1 (beta) is able to use resources from BF2SF, allowing the standard BF2 maps to be played with all the SF addons such as the grapple and zipline.

The question is - does anyone actually want this?

The plus side is that it means you can give all the BF2 maps a new lease of life with SF gear - imagine grappling up to the top of the mosque in Mashtuur City, or ziplining across Strike at Karkand.

The downside is that it requires you to have SF installed (in order to link to the resource files)

So the question is, do I utilise this new opportunity to make our mod even more unique, or do I keep it as standard BF2?

(not sure yet but it ought to also be possible to have all the BF2 and SF maps in a single rotation with this)

Just reinstalled BF2 and SF m8, so i'll have a go of that

Creating a v1.1 patch over the next couple of days, grab the fcukmod 1.0 off the downloads as you'll need that as the base install

(oh and I'm done on that miniature conversion project but have had to order a new mini USB cable for the camera so I can get you a shot for final approval, hoping for it to arrive early next week. Can't find my old cable anywhere )

Oh, and I've been looking at how to run proper local stats (with unlocks and ranks and everything under our control instead of the global score at Gamespy), it looks do-able but unfortunately the 1.3 BF2 patch accidently disabled non-ranked servers from using unlocks and ranks. As long as this is fixed in 1.4 I should be able to build us our own ranking system Kinda enjoying getting my head back into code now I don't have to do it for a living any more!
