Help a n00b in need!! Major PC advice needed.

Ok guys, I've got my hands on an XP pro disc and I'm in the process of backing up all sorts. I've got a mate from uni coming to help me do it on Wednesday and he knows a thing or two so hopefully things will be sorted and I'll be 100% by Thursday/Friday.

I've kinda got the hang of what to do anyway but best have someone who knows what they're doing there too.

lol. i think everything will work fine in a few days. formatting a pc is fookin easy. jus shove in the xp cd, delete every partition, make a new partition which is 5-10 GB big for the OS and another partition for the rest (or 2,3,4.... i have 4 partitions (games, music, films etc... on a 100 GB hdd)
then select one partition to install xp there. wait 30 mins.. and its done.
after that reinstall the data ya saved before and there ya go again.
i do that every 3 months... takes one day and i get rid of all the crap&lt;on my comp and its runnin as fast as on the first day.

Job done but fuck me, it wasn't easy. Took several attempts after some dodgy CD dealing (and opening up the old girl for some air), we managed to get it all sorted. She's better then she ever was now (and loaded with all the software a young budding Graphic Designer would ever want).

I'm now putting all my games back on my 2nd parition and will be ready for gaming come Thursday evening!!
