Upgrading - Need advice.. was created by Cully
Alright lads,

I've been thinkin of upgrading for quite sometime now, and i've run into a bit of money recently. Could any of yas advise me on a decent Motherboard & Processor, i'm looking for a bundle deal to save me stressing over compatability issues. I've been out of the loop for so long i couldn't tell ya the difference between a celeron chip and a pentium 4 standard.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.. My budget for the mobo and processor is around 400 Sterling.

Cheers lads,

Just don'tsuggest some hampster of a PC cause there's money involved! ;)

Something that'll run vegas and other "demanding" games.. I'll buy a decent graphics card at a later date...

Ta,

Cully

Myself i would go for the following, if you just want a CPU and Mobo for £400 ish !!

I quite like the specs on that pc ya recommend Andy, although i'm a bit cautious ..buying from Scan. They sold me a dodgey Motherboard and ram in the past. Took them a month to test and send me a replacement. Pain in the arse.

Cheers for the advice, i think i'll go ahead with this.. then splash out on a few DDR2 memory modules.

Thanks mate,
Cully

I've been looking for weeks now. Just trying to figure out all the new stuff. Been a couple of years since I upgraded. Think the last thing I bought was an 6800GT, and boy did that fly when I got it !! All a different story now.

Anyhoo. what i was going to say was this. I've settled on [u:2azgti70]THIS[/u:2azgti70][/color:2azgti70][/url:2azgti70]. Its cheap and a massive upgrade for me. Along with a 7950GS and a shiny new 22" TFT (Andy's fault that one). All for 800 nicker. Fair deal me thinks, worth a ponder.
