might sound silly, but have you installed the chipset?
USB 2.0 will only run at 2.0 if the chipset is installed. If they arnt installed i think i recall that they fall back onto 1.1
Might be worth ripping them out of the device manager, reboot, and reinstall your chipset. Wont do any harm, but may fix your issue.

yeh chipsets are instaled m8, i know its working at 2.0 as well cause it will transfer a 64MB file to my mp3 in about 8 seconds,
shamr i have to connect via usb at all, my mobo has a gigabit lan connector on it

got it sorted at last,
but still dont know why transfer was so slow using usb 2.0
