Have you rechecked all ya record/playback settings, also what does it sound like when you record some speech ?

I only use the mic for vent but I used it to test and its fine for other things.
As for the record/playback settings, They seem to be fine. I'll see if i can record some sound or If anyone who is on Vent can record me for me (
) and put it up, that would be appreciated

so the problem is vent not yer mic in your vent setup have you got your "line" set to microphone and not "what u hear"
