Well then, that's me done for the summer. Had a smashing trip across the seas down to Denmark, spent some time in Roskilde (not much tho) and sneaked my way through Sweden on my way back.
Since _L wanted me to post some pics, here we go. None of these are taken by me as the last cam I brought on board drowned. I ain't doing that again.
One of the many get-togheters at the start of the regatta, all boats trying to steal the wind, leaving the other boats in the calm behind their sails...
Here I am on the left hand side, having a cig and teaching my m8 what to do with them slimy fisssshies. As you can clearly see, he enjoys the lecture as much as I do.
This ain't from our boat, but illustrates some of the joys of sailing. ^^
Anyhow, to make a long trip a short story, we went down to have a look at Roskilde Festival, one of the biggest festivals in Scandinavia. It had rained for the past week all around, and the festival camp was as close to a muddy deathtrap as possible (I heard there were people who drowned, but haven't seen any news on it though...) To make matters easier, me and my m8 left our luggage at one of them drop-off points to have a look at Copenhagen before we went down to Roskilde, but the last train left an hour later than the luggagebox-office closed, so we only had our sneakers and jeans to keep the water out. It was a wet kind of hell. Good thing alcohol keeps you warm.
The next day we went to fetch our luggage and to buy some rubber boots. In the previous day, the entire town got sold out, 3000 pairs in a matter of hours and we were properly hung over, cold and desperate. Luckily we had to go back to Copenhagen anyhow and after 4 hours trailing the streets in the capitol we heard rumors about a store having "shiteloads, mate!" according to a guy from New Zealand there for the festival. And after another two hours we finally struck gold. Back again to the festival, try to get the tent up. Get inside when done, have a beer, getting blown away inside the tent. Time to go home. Didn't get to see one clucking concert.
By the way, the pictures I found do this years festival no justice. I bough a pair of green ones, you know the kind that goes up to right under your knee? When we bailed out, my boots were starting to flood over.
(None of these pictures are mine, they are found throughout the internet and used under the fair-use act.)
