New Onslaught Mode Coming to Bad Company 2

Up to four players can take on waves of enemies together.

Ever wanted to just do some co-op battles with friends in Battlefield: Bad Company 2? Starting soon, you'll be able to.

A new mode called Onslaught will let up to four players take on waves of enemies on four different maps. The maps that will be in the mode are Valparaiso, Atacama Desert, Isla Inocentes and Nelson Bay. Each map will have a different focus, like vehicles or infantry.

The new mode will be on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, but DICE is unsure if the PC version will be able to play it. The reason? Their dedicated servers.

"The problem we have on PC is that all our servers are dedicated with provider," associated producer Barrie Tingle said. "Changing a server from Conquest 32 players to Onslaught 4 players cuts out 28 player slots from the total amount available. This could have a dramatic affect on the PC online environment if enough servers changed to Onslaught. We aren't ruling out Onslaught on PC but at this time we are researching how to bring it to PC without affecting players who don't have Onslaught or their own server to run it on."

No date or price was given for the new mode. In the meantime, check out a trailer for the new mode below.
