damn game crashes

been tryin to get on RvS but the bugger keeps crashing back to the desktop and my machine freezes up till i reboot, tryed reinstaling a couple of times but still get the same,
i kinda put it on the back burner and not got around to sortin it,
i then downloaded a 2003 Apahe heli game and thats doin the exact same thing so im guessing it aint RvS.
any ideas plz

thats something i thought but when i check the cat control it says temp is about 54oC
thats about norm init?
or is that not a reliable reading?

Edit: just had a go on GRAW tab'd out half through a level and temp was 81oC, but it still played fine with no crashes.

na think it was _P or _N put me off that idea.

i enabled the VPU recover in the Catalist control, didnt make any diffeance.

game loads up go's through the intro vids gets to the options page then crashes back to the desk top,
get a message saying windows explorer got a prob has to close, then Dr Watson debugger got a prob and has to close,
then my machine just freezes up and i have to power down.

thought it must be a problem with RvS reinstaled it a few times made no differance,
instaled Apache AH-64 Air Assault, which does exact same thing if i restart a mission or complete a mission.
GRAW plays fine no probs!!
gonna try install Comanche4 later see what that does
