No more BF2 it seems...

... for me, anyway.

As of Patch 1.41 it's unplayable on my monitor due to the fact that none of the acceptable res/refresh combinations for BF2 seem to work on it

There's posts all over various forums about a black screen/crash to desktop on startup and they invariably seem to be down to the startup resolution needing to be changed, especially for folks with LCD displays.

Mine black-screens no matter what, even after a reinstall I can play just fine as long as it isn't 1.41...

Any ideas?

there must be a fix somewhere;
try altering the video.con file found in C:\Documents and Settings\xxxxxl\My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\Default

Unfortunately, this is the problem

I've been through every resolution and refresh rate it'll handle.

The number of problems would indicate a 1.42 patch will be needed soon, alternatively the new card coming (hopefully tomorrow!) might bring a miracle with it
