I'm completely fucked if I can't fix this in the next few days...
I have a Maxtor Diamondmax 16 250MB HDD that is fucked. It doesnt spin up any more.
If I transfer the platters to another drive of the same model (fuck the dust, I'll just have to pray it works) I assume I can at least attempt to recover some data.
The problem is I don't have another of this exact model and can't find one anywhere. Every match I find turns out to be a Diamondmax 10 or Diamondmax 21 of the same size.
Would appreciate any comments/advice on either fixing this or a method of disappearing from the face of the earth without leaving my relatives to pick up my debts
