Software for unlocking phones?

Any1 know owt about software for unlocking mobiles + taking off that annoying start up thingy?
Got data cable just need software.

found summet, but on connecting me phone chose model clicked unlock n it said downloading virus
N rather than pay £10 to some dodgy paki down a side street id rather raid the net n get it done meself for free. N maybe make cash from it in future

I can now unlock it n take of those annoying fcukin intro/outro firmware
