Story: Finally you don't travel all around the world, the whole games takes place at one city (except for the "training mission" of course). Not the best story but it's good enough to keep you up late at night. Irena Morales, a mexican terrorist took control over Las Vegas and you have to regain control. The game is not long, it lasts for 12 hours tops.
Gameplay: It's not as tactical as the earlier games but it still has some tactical depths. The controls are easy, you can give commands with one button and your teammates will go where you are pointing with your mouse or stack up at a door. But there are some more commands, you can bring up with other buttons, such as "Bang and clear!" for example. There's no planning before missions. In the lower left corner of the screen you can see the others' current state and what orders you can give them with the hotkeys. The missions are varied enough, so you won't get bored.
AI: It's good but mostly for your teammates. They do their job very well, feels real and the animation is very good too. The enemies aren't very smart but they use cover, grenades, they try to take better positions. Their reaction time is a bit higher than your teammates' in compensation. The reviewer says the realistic setting should be very challenging for the R6 vets too. Smile
Weapons: As we know there are three weapon types, and they are all looking authentic. You can see all the weapons on your body. You can choose your weapons before the missions but sometimes you can change your weapons when you are on the helicopter. The pistols are less useful in this game than earlier. You'll have enough ammunition but if for some reason you'd run out of it, you can pick up the fallen enemies' weapon. There are smoke, flash, frag, tear gas and chemical (this is lethal) grenades. You have heatvision and nightvision goggles. And there are also explosives and gas masks at your disposal.
Graphics: Well, this is a strong part of the game, the reviewer says it's very beautiful. Cool Of course we won't know this for sure, till a demo comes out. The rag-doll is very well done, there's no clipping, you can destroy many things (though only a few things were mentioned, so we'll have to see it for ourselvs too). The environment is interactive. The character animation is very fluid, very life-like.
Sounds: The weapons have authenthic sounds (the reviewer is a layman, so he's only saying it sounds real to him Smile), the grenades are exploding with great sound effects, the voice acting is good too. The music changes dynamically, when you are hurt badly it changes to a more dramatic tone.
Multiplayer: There are the co-op, Terrorist Hunt and the Versus modes. In Versus mode you have ten maps, including the old favourite, The Streets. There are different modes here too from deathmatch to area defending modes. You can customise your characters, and with good performance you can unlock new weapons.
Requirements: The reviewer's PC: AMD 3000+, 1GB RAM, GeForce 6600GT. He said he needed 512 megs more to play the game smoothly but it's not clear how much RAM was on the 6600GT. Since my PC is not much weaker, I have some hope to run it well. Smile
He didn't say anything about the cover system but I'll try to find out some information about it. Smile There was no word about bugs or horrible reqs so this is either good (I hope so Big Grin) or they just didn't/couldn't mention them.
The game is more open for a wider audience but it still has tactical depths, though not like the older games. But it's not as arcade as Lockdown, it's more like Raven Shield, as the reviewer says.
He gave 92% for the game. IMO it worth around 85% but until I can't play the demo or the full game I won't bury it. The review gave me some hope but a demo would me more useful.
This review was in the Hungarian PC magazine, GameStar, written by Ashe.

Even more good news! Smile I got answers from the reviewer too:
Ashe has a 6600Gt with 128 megs, he has 512 MB RAM, so he borrowed 512 more and he tested the game with 1GB. With this config he could play the game in 1024x768 with medium settings and it was running smoothly!
There were some minor graphical bugs but they were not disturbing and they may not be in the final, retail version. Besides this, the game is a very good port.
He liked the cover system, and he said it was easy to learn and didn't ruin the game.

I wouldn't buy Vista yet, Mainly for lack of drivers and that you get kicked from PB Protected Servers on any game for using it !!
