Perseus, I was pilot of said chopper, I hovered over spawn - you where not on vent so could not give you location of target, I had to assume you could see the incoming fire as we where taking hits from your side.... this happened two/ three times - Ineeded two gunners....

I asked S to kick who was idling on that side, he suggested a TK I agreed - wasn't till affter he did so that I relised it was you and relised mistake - 90% of time I wouldn't have give two hoots to whom we had done that to.. but communication is need first and foremost....

As for picking up team mates - I didn't they spawned on me as squad leader.

Anyways, I apologise for giving the ok (i out rank nooby Ssss lol) - your more than welcome to join us on Vent mate,,,,

Please do come back to our server - I know deliberate TKing is naughty but was more a breakdown of communication than breaking our rules - tough call.

(as for flying off in a transport chopper solo - you did and yes was a waste of time but its just a game - sometimes )

I'll be a good grown up lad and pretend that last post by _K isn't there, will save us all a lot of bollox.

Yes thnx _S m8, all in the clear. In the meantime we @ SSG are preparing to set up our own server, high Ghz and all, simply putting money in and putting our own kit together, only problem seems to be hooking it up to the ranks system, but we'll get that sorted. Anyway, it promises to be a nice server smack in the middle of 100MB Swedish blondes land. Keep ya posted.

Noooooooo problemos m8ey. Won't be visiting any servers this week though, I think, as I'll be too busy doing other stuff *argh*

Can give you some advice there - EA will under no circumstances allow a 3rd party server to become ranked. Only way to do it is to rent from an "approved supplier" (obvious EA $$$$$ scam but what can you do?). Said approved suppliers usually stuff 2-4 servers on a physical box (rumors that some do even more than that). You get bugger all real control over it past what you can do in rcon (so no uploading new files, editing scripts, adding maps, etc).

Shi-ite, I didn't know it was *that* difficult. We had made a calculation on what a beefed up ranked server would cost via EA channels (for 64 players) but when Hammer and I were finished calculating, we were ready to take some live ammo to EA HQ.

Hence the idea for our own server.

Oh well, so then we won't be having a ranked server. We're in it purely for the fun anyway and that server's going to run other stuff besides BF2, so...

What you can do is hook your server to the ranking system for purposes of using already unlocked weapons. So it'll show your ranks, let you use weapons you've unlocked, but wont report scores back to EA.

Plus sit back and hope all the shouting thats being done to EA about ranked servers (and theres a fair bit from people in the exact same position, expensive server sitting there and cant run ranked on it) gets something done. Possibly they'll give the option to pay a smaller "report processing" fee and use your own server in the future, but dont hold your breath
