J if i am right what you are saying is to raise the temperature of 1kg of water by 1 ºK, it would require 4180J of energy (4.18kJ). I am not to sure if my pysix are correct but i thought i would have a go.........................

100% m8, your absolutely right, which would mean that because a joule is a watt /s2, then that would also equal 4.1KW/s2, which is pretty good

As you know every substance has a specific heat capacity and is defined as the quantity of heat energy required to raise the temperature of 1kg of the substance by 1ºK or 1°C
